Shocks = batteries?

The energy that emerges from a vehicle different actions. The braking deceleration produce but also the vertical energy absorbed by shock absorbers. It is possible to transform it into electricity for the hybrid cars.

The brains of Tufts University, near Boston, had the ingenious idea to use another source, created by the vertical motion of the car. They developed dampers that absorb the energy of these movements (their role in the origin) and then make electricity via an electromagnetic generator.

The autonomy of the vehicle may then be increased from 20 to 70% depending on the designers of this system, which intend to hybrids like the Toyota Prius, the Honda Insight and Chevrolet Volt.

The idea has also been developed and patented in the 90s, but today the invention could eventually interest a lot of people.
